First overnight trip
Monday, February 26th, 2007This past weekend we went to San Pedro for Ava’s first overnight trip. The drive from Ventura down to LA can be fairly heavy at the wrong hours of the day so we left late Saturday night to avoid any congestions. We packed up the ‘Pack-N-Play’ to use there as a changing station and planned on leaving it there for future trips. We fit everything into the car including luggage, stroller and Rudy who sat in the front seat next to me while Marlene sat next to Ava in her car seat.
The drive was pretty uneventful. We got there around 10 PM and Ava was sound asleep the whole way there in her car seat. We managed to fit the Pack-N-Play and her bassinet in the room with just enough space to get us in and out of bed. She slept pretty well all night which was pretty nice. Marlene did have to wake up in the morning to feed her. We had many visitors from Marlene’s family on Sunday including a George and Mickey who met Ava for the first time.
First Joseph’s Bakery pizza. yummmm….. Maybe next year she’ll get to try it

Great aunt Mary, great uncle George and great grandpa

First overnight trip

We stayed for dinner and watched the Oscars before we left. It was nice to see Martin Scorsese win his first statue but the rest of the show was not too exciting. We left again late in the evening to avoid traffic and made it home around 11PM.
It went pretty well for her first overnight trip. In a couple of weeks we are going to David’s album release party when the grandparents will have to babysit her while we attend it in LA. It’s gonna be the first time for both of us to leave her with other people so we will see how it goes when the time comes…
