Scary guys 1 : Ava 1
Friday, October 30th, 2009Hi there. We are off on a walk. A walk to see who will win this year. The scary guys or Ava. Here we go.

Last year, every time we walked past a certain house, Ava looked at their Halloween decorations…

And this year, the scary guys are back. And there are even more of them. And heads on sticks too. Oh boy. Here we go.

And ignores them. They are not real. They are not real. Yeah! She wins this year!! Good job Ava!!!

The Ronnie Library
Wednesday, October 28th, 2009So, Dan has been wanting to go see Air Force One for a million years. Seriously. So we went to the Ronald Reagan Library to see it in person. As soon as we walk into the place, there is this huge bronze statue of Ronnie himself.

The statue looks pretty harmless, right? He even looks like my Dida Slavo. I think it’s the hair. But look at Ava. She’s scared shitless.

HAHAHAHAH. This is the best picture ever!

But as soon as made it inside the museum part, she was back to her old self. ‘Shhhh. You have to be berry berry quiet.‘

Inside, the girls got to climb up the White House.

And looky here. Ronnie is not as scary as a poster on the wall.

Since we had a bunch of little kids with us, we didn’t read about any historical moments in the museum. We just wizzed past it all to get to THE plane.

It sits in this huge hanger with a wall of windows. Check out that amazing view.

So, no pictures were allowed of the plane itself. But Ava and Dan loved it. And me and Mila? We thought it was sooooo 80s.

And look who finally smiled at Ronnie. I guess I should mention that this picture was made up of his favorite candies. Jelly Bellies.

But Ava’s favorite part of the the Library was this genuine piece of the Berlin Wall. Not because of its historical value… but for the pretty butterfly on it.

And Mila’s favorite part? Sleeping in the baby carrier, of course.

The gardens outside were equally amazing and with more beautiful views to admire.

We then visited Reagan’s grave site.

Ava stared and stared at his memorial, looked at me and then asked ‘Are we at the zoo?’.

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009Ava: 33 months old!!!
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009Hey guys!! Ava is now 33 months old!!! Yup, that’s 2 years and 9 months old!!!

And what was she doing at the exact moment she turned 33 months old? Sitting with all of her stuffed animals on Rudy’s old bed.

Just a little different from 2 years ago, huh?

Over the weekend we went to the pumpkin patch.

But we bypassed all the actual pumpkins.

Because we were there to bounce. Ava loved the bounce house but with the good comes the bad. She gets scared when the older kids show up. They eventually end of running into her and it scares her a bit.

So she has started to hold on to the side when they show up… and cry that it is too bouncy. A bounce house that’s bouncy? Imagine that!

There was also a bounce house/slide thing in the shape of a school bus that she liked… until about six bigger kids decided to sit up on top and block the slide… and make her freak out that she can’t move past them. Mama to the rescue!

And believe or not, she went down this giant slide for the first time.

And decided it was a good idea to go down head first. What the? She eventually ate it hard on this thing and said ‘No more slides. It’s for big kids‘. Good call Ava.

So then we were off to get matching unicorn face paint. They were much more excited than this. Trust me.

We also got to check out some farm animals too. Quack quack.

On Sunday, we came back to bounce some more but I won’t bore you with my Groundhog’s Day pictures.

We also decorated the house a bit more with Halloween decorations.

But our neighbor’s cat, Snickers, didn’t like them one bit. HISS!

It’s okay Yoda. We like our decorations and that’s all that matters.

Oh. Do you need a trick to make your own bubbles at home? Add some sugar to your mixture of dish soap and water. It works sooo much better. See?!

This week was play-doh craziness. Here is Ava showing off her skills to Eric and Cynthia.

For quiet time, Ava has been into ‘cooking’ on her bed. And at the end of quiet time, we always find her sitting in this box. Silly Ava.

Since the rain has kept us from parks this week, we paid eight bucks to go to ‘The Clubhouse’ for the first time. The girls had fun.

A little too much fun at times. Ouch!

Oh and that place was a petri dish. And we can’t afford for Ava to get sick right now. Health plan issues. So it was off to the doctor for a flu shot. Just in case. Sorry Ava. We had to. Sniffle sniffle. Bye!
