Ava: 38 months old!!!
Hi there. Our cowgirl loving Ava is now 38 months old!!!

And what was she doing the second she turned exactly 38 months old? Enjoying the day in Panama City Beach, Florida.

And does she immediately run into the water and splash around? Nope.

We had a free pool day thanks to a blog reader this week. Ava loves swimming with her ladybug floaties.

That night we headed to a great restaurant for a bite to eat. After dinner while we were waiting for our check, Ava notices a large bug heading her way. She stands in the middle of the restaurant and starts screaming. Loud. It was so sad and hilarious at the same time. She freaked out.

Ava misses her friends at home and the ones we’ve made on this trip. Poor thing has to play dress-up with Yoda sometimes. After putting the bow on Yoda’s head, she announces to me that “Yoda is now ready to go to a party!“.

So this week we headed down the west coast of Florida in search of manatees. They were a little hard to see in the water for Ava since they only stick their noses out every few minutes to breathe. Luckily, there was a statue she could sit on and learn about.

Ava also showed Mila how to swing like a big girl in the baby swings.

There was also a lake at the manatee park that was super bright green. Ava has determined to touch it for some reason. Upon closer inspection, it wasn’t green at all but had a layer of bright green plants on its surface. The cool thing about this lake was there were underground caves that scuba divers were allowed to explore.

If there is sand around, Ava is in it with with her tools and buckets.

And this time we had a little visitor at our campsite. Hello Bambi.

Our time in Florida has been a bit different than the other states. We are more on the move here. So that means, Dan has a lot of work to do everyday to get the Airstream ready for take off. And he now has a little helper with him.

Ava is really into helping and doing things herself now. She loves being in charge of feeding Yoda. And when she had a chance to feed cat food to catfish, she took it. The hard thing about this trip is that once Ava does something fun, she wants to repeat it. But most of the time we can’t because we are off to do new things. Feeding catfish was one of the things she kept asking us about for days and days.

So, this week we had a the sweetest dog named Lightning come to our site. Ava fell in love. And then said this “I think the beautiful doggy should live with us in the Mali Mish“. She has already started to work us for a dog. Can you believe it?

Notice the smile. Today all her dreams were about to come true. She is going to see a real mermaid show. We got there early and got the best seats in the house.

Mermaids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at that smile!!!! She loved that the mermaids complimented her on her own mermaid dress too.

So sometimes we miss home. And where do we go to feel closer to home? Denny’s!!! Ava loves the kids coloring menu. FYI… their pancakes aren’t always as fluffy as the ones in Ventura.

She talks about going to Nona’s house a lot and going to the clubhouse with Grace. So once again, Yoda gets to play dress up.

Look at this. Ava’s first owl drawing.

And what prompted this? A (not) exciting trip to Hooters.

I did tell Ava that the girls that work there all wear orange shorts. So she starts taking pictures of all the orange butts she sees. Lol. I think she is building a collection for a father’s day present. Hehe.

Then we got to our next destination in Florida and it was finally oceanfront. Welcome to paradise!

But there wasn’t too much sand for her to play in so we drove down the way to the Fort to play at the beach there. Why are we sitting next to relics? We were hoping it would block the wind. We hate wind. A lot.

And Ava is still obsessed with ice. Can’t get enough.

And asks for pieces of ice ‘this big‘.

But when Dada finally perfected his beignet making, bye-bye ice and hello sugary donuts!
